“Legend & Legacy” was inspired by Tony Stewart’s amazing win at Homestead, securing his 3rd NASCAR Championship title in 2011. This painting is also an homage to the friendship of two great auto racing champions: Tony and his idol, AJ Foyt, Jr.

It’s said that when Tony started his own NASCAR team upon discovering the number 14 was available, he called AJ and asked if he could use the number on his car. AJ said yes.

Watching the 2011 NASCAR finale at Homestead, Tony had to win to secure his 3rd title. As the son of a dirt track and Indycar driver it was thrilling to watch as Tony’s dirt days propelled him to victory. His victory under a must win scenario as well as his relationship to AJ is the why behind this original.

During the delivery at Foyt Racing in Waller, Texas, Larry Foyt said, “It looks like the cars are driving right of the painting at you!”
