About this Artwork

“Donohue’s ’72 Winner” features 1972 Indianapolis 500 winner, Mark Donohue, in Roger Penske’s McLaren Offy (Offenhauser).

This was Donohue’s first and only Indianapolis 500 win. It was the first year Jim Nabors sang “Back Home Again in Indiana.” It was Roger Penke’s first Indy 500 win. Roger has since accumulated 14 Indy 500 wins with drivers Bobby Unser, Al Unser, Sr., “Little” Al Unser, Jr., Gil-de-Ferran, Sam Hornish, Jr., Helio Castroneves, Will Power, Simon Pagenaud, Danny Sulivan, Juan Pablo Montoya and Emerson Fittipaldi.

2022 marks the 50th anniversary of Penske’s first Indianapolis 500 win. Congratulations to the Captain.
